TL;DR

Built an internal brand guidelines documentation site for Spotify that leaned hard into their design and motion aesthetics — treating the docs themselves as a showcase of the brand language they were describing.

Impact

  • Delivered an internal brand resource that functioned as both documentation and inspiration
  • Gave Spotify teams a firsthand experience of the brand's motion and design principles in action
  • Established a reference point for how far the visual language could stretch

Description

Spotify's internal teams needed a living reference for their brand guidelines — but a static doc wasn't going to cut it. We were handed an unusual brief: push the design and motion as far as we could, and they'd pull us back if needed. They didn't pull us back much.

As Senior Frontend Developer, I brought the visual language to life in the browser — translating Spotify's kinetic identity into scroll-driven interactions, expressive transitions, and layered motion that made the documentation feel as alive as the brand itself. The site wasn't just describing Spotify's aesthetic. It was demonstrating it.
